Job description

As a research scientist, you will be working on the future induction heating and wireless energy transfer systems, with a special industrial focus (robustness, efficiency, power density, etc). We are looking for a person with the eagerness to transfer and apply world-class academic research into an industrial environment. You will work within a highly motivated team of researchers.

 

As a part of IKERLAN you will work in dynamic, motivated and creative teams with a wide range of experience and competence, and access to highly advanced laboratory facilities. You will enjoy the best combination of university-like research and industrial leading research, conducting the following tasks:

 

  • Contribute to projects that turn state-of-the-art research results into effective solutions for our end industrial customers, academic and research partners.
  • Gather requirements, develop innovative concepts, scout emerging technologies, design architectures, create models, validate concepts by prototypes, and demonstrate them.
  • Disseminate your results in high impact scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports.
  • Build a network within Ikerlan as well with external partners and become known for your skills.

 

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assessment and improvement of leading induction heating and wireless energy transfer technologies
  • Research in multidisciplinary team­work within power electronics, electromagnetism and control specialists
  • Multi domain analysis, simulation and experimental development in industrial conditions

  • Salary (gross salary): 54.000 €/year.
  • 1-year contract.

Requirements

EDUCATION:

  • A PhD in Electronics Engineering or in a similar Engineering branch

EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 years of experience in the field of power electronics and magnetic components.
  • Design of magnetic components for Power electronics converters (inductances, transformers or electrical machines).
  • Simulations in Matlab/Simulink and Flux 2D/3D (or equivalent FEM software) of converters and magnetic components, respectively.
  • Experience in industrial heating converter design, inductance and transformer design or wireless energy transfer design.
